Forme inking unit for flexographic and intaglio printing machines having a variable-speed distributing cylinder

To adjust the viscosity of printing inks, a distributing cylinder with a narrow gap relative to the ink chamber is driven at variable speed whilst utilising the thixotropic behaviour in a cylindrical ink chamber. The displacement body used as the distributing cylinder allows the volume of the ink chamber to be reduced to a value which is lower by a power of 10 than in known forme inking systems. The distributed ink passes into a closed ink application space and, by an adjustable pressure, onto the screen roller. Cleaning takes place by immersing the ink feed device in a solvent, the throughflow of the solvent device being maintained until the screen roller has been cleaned completely.
