An electrical flush-mounted socket, designed as a hollow-wall socket, such as a switch socket, junction socket or the like, which consists of two parts, namely an approximately annular insertion body and a housing, and which can be inserted in the opening in a wall and has at least one supporting flange. It is furthermore equipped with means for connecting the two parts to one another and to fix the flush-mounted socket in the region of the opening in the wall. In order to create the possibility of providing the rearward part of the housing with a different design, the insertion body is inserted from the rear into the opening in the wall. The housing is inserted into the insertion body in the same direction, that is to say likewise from the rear with its open side in front. In consequence, only the front region of the housing need be matched to the dimensions and design of the insertion body. The design of the rearward housing part is completely free.
