In a pressing machine or laundry mangle having a resilient roller covering which is formed on the roller (1) by a plurality of spring elements (4) located next to one another and mounted in supporting rings (3), the spring elements (4) extending over the entire roller length are formed from angled sectional plates which are aligned to form a circular shape and which overlap in an imbricated manner in the installed state. In the overlap region (4a) the spring elements (4) are equipped with spring tongues (5) spaced uniformly from one another. In addition to good air circulation, this proposal ensures that the pressing material is pressed more uniformly and in a manner distributed over the entire roller length. Moreover, the spring elements (4) can be mounted and exchanged easily. IMAGE
