Method for camouflaging a sea-going craft against location by electromagnetic radiation and deception device for carrying out this camouflaging

To camouflage a sea-going craft against location by electromagnetic radiation from an acknowledged direction of threat, there is used a deception device which is exposed in a place similar to that of the craft to be camouflaged, in relation to the direction of location, and, if appropriate, is also moved in a similar way to the preceding course of the craft to be camouflaged, while the latter, if appropriate with additional camouflaging, turns away. The deception device consists of a stabilised float body having instruments for generating a water curtain which reflects the locating radiation and which is to be designed so that the locating echo is substantially identical to that of the craft to be camouflaged.
