The automatic switching circuit and control is for battery charging includes two batteries which are charged in parallel and discharged in series. The control comprises a transistor (T1), a resistance (R1) and diode (D1) connected between the terminals of opposite polarity of the two batteries. The transistor is blocked or conducting according to the polarity of the voltage applied to the terminals of the diode. This transistor (T1) controls transistor switches (T2, T3) in a charging circuit. A further switch may be connected in series with the diode.
