Electronic programme control device - for textile winding operations, cuts yarn wastage

An electronic device is provided for adaption to textile machines with a programmed control for the length of yarn under process, calculated to within tens of metres. The quality of the yarn is not affected, but losses of yarn are reduced to a minimum by a permanent monitoring, including yarn breakage signals and automatic stopping when the full length is wound. Wastage of individual yarns, on e.g. a warping creel, is automatically controlled, which is particularly important where coloured yarns are employed.
