The collector consists of an inlet manifold and an exit manifold, which are connected together by a row of tubes. The ends of the tubes are joined to the manifolds by flexible seals; and a heat transfer fluid flows through the tubes from the inlet manifold to the exit manifold. At least one glass pane is located between the manifolds. The two manifolds are pref. joined together by rigid cheeks to make a frame. The tubes are pref. provided with rows of fins to improve heat collection. The manifolds are pref. also joined together by a baseplate covered with a layer of thermal insulation. All the components of the collector are inexpensive and easily assembled together by mechanical methods.
