The simulator is used for practice in an anti-aircraft gun on a real target and includes a gun provided with a sight and controls allowing the gun to be aimed at a target following a particular path, and a substitute trigger for firing at the target. A television camera (CA) is aligned with the sight to provide an image of the target, and a set of detectors (CP) provide signals indicating the gun position. A pickup (T) detects the time of firing. A monitor (MOI) coupled to the sight by an optical system (C-LSR) introduces into the sight an image of the projectile trace and an image of the point of sight. A control desk includes a second monitor (MO2) also showing these images together with the target and other operating data. A digital calculator forms part of an electronic control receiving TV camera signals and pickup signals in order to control the production of TV image signals.
