A refrigerant system of heat exchange is used in a machine for recovery and regeneration of dry cleaning solvents. The system supplies heat and cold, by virtue of thermo-control and programming, to four 'batteries' supplying on the one hand the regeneration unit, and on the other, the dry cleaning 'tunnel'. The machine follows a four phase system: phase (I), pre-cleaning, cleaning and spin-drying; phase (II), crying; phase (III), de-odorising and phase (IV), regeneration, which takes place at the same time as phase (I). The system of the invention offers a significant saving in energy resources, both in solvent recovery and in solvent regeneration.
