An image formation material comprises a conductive substrate, a layer of an active organic transport material capable of supporting the injection of photo-excited holes, covering a prodn. layer with an aptitude for producing photo-excited holes. The prodn. layer comprises 5-25 atomic wt.% Te and 75-95 atomic wt.% Se and is 0.05-0.5 micron thick. The material is used as a photosensitive element in xerography. It has excellent discharge characteristics in darkness and excellent spectral response. The prodn. layer contains 10-20 (15) atomic wt.% Te and 80-90 (85) atomic wt. % Se and is 0.1-0.4 micron thick. 45 Cpds. are specified which can be incorporated in the transport layer, including e.g. poly-9-vinylanthracene.
