The false wall uses supports (16) fixed to the wall (10) and panel supporting profiles (18) are fixed to the supports. The profiles have rounded edge (20) for anchorage of a grooved fixing bracket (24) on each panel (12,14). They have a folded edge (22) for the anchorage, using staple shaped clips (26), of strike plate fixing brackets (28) integral to the panels. Each grooved bracket has a plate (34) integral to a panel internal face and a curved extension (38) which defines the groove and the bracket can pivot and bear on the rounded profile edge.
