An analytical research on elasto-plastic sway process of steel rigid frame with center core steel panel shear wall are carried out and compared with test results. For Type B of steel rigid frame with 9 story-3 span, the relationship between the vectors of incremental sway angle and shear force at each story is derived from equilibrium and compatibility equations at each story and joint, respectively. For Type A, which is Type B added center core steel panel shear wall, the wall is idealized into shear springs differentiated by each story. Then restoring forces in opposite direction with shear forces are added at each story, so that fundamental matrix equation can be derived as well as Type B. As a result, the correspondences between tested and calculated values in both cases are fairly good qualitatively as well as quantitatively.
