The appts. comprises a base (1) on which there is a diagram (7) of the solar pathways covered by a semi-transparent semi-reflecting dome (5). An instant camera (18) with a time delay supported by a bracket (13) perpendicular to the base is used to obtain a simultaneous picture of the solar pathways and the surrounding features of the site. The base stands on two adjustable feet (2,3) and one articulated adjustable foot (4) which, with the aid of threading and a lock-nut (10), fixes the base perpendicular to the bracket provided with a spirit-level (12). The optical axis of the camera is placed in the axis of revolution of the dome and in the axis of the solar pathway diagram in a vertical manner. The optical centre of the camera is placed so as to allow the coincidence of the lines of elevation and azimuth seen by transparency through the dome with the objects found at this same elevation and azimuth seen by reflection on the dome.
