Refuelling helicopters in the hover

Helicopter fuelling apparatus for use on a ship 10 comprises a flexible fuel pipeline 12 leading from a pump in a container unit 13 on the ship up to the helicopter 11 so that the helicopter can maintain position above the ship and be refuelled thereby enabling the helicopter to maintain full fuel tanks until it has to move away from the ship. The helicopter then moves away from the connector 14 on the pipeline which drops into the sea with a parachute 16 to slow the fall. IMAGE
