GERMINATION AND GROWTH IMPROVER FOR DIRECTLY SOWN PADDY RICE SEED

PURPOSE:A germination and growth improver for directly sown paddy rice seeds, obtained by incorporating calcium peroxide with a specific stabilizer capable of bonding to calcium hydroxide to form a stable calcium-containing compound, and having more improved germination and growth promoting action. CONSTITUTION:A germination and growth improver, obtained by incorporating a germination and growth improver for directly sown paddy rice seeds containing CaO2 with a stabilizer, capable of bonding to Ca(OH)2 derived from CaO2 to form a stable calcium-containing compound, and consisting mainly of a phosphoric acid compound or sulfuric acid compound, and capable of improving the germination of the above-mentioned seeds and growth thereafter without affecting adversely the potency of CaO2. The above-mentioned stabilizer is preferably (a) a stabilizer consisting of 1-5wt%, based on CaO2, expressed in terms of Al, Al2(SO4)3 and if necessary a spreader or (b) a stabilizer obtained by incorporating 1-15wt%, based on CaO2 containing ettringite containing 1- 3wt%, based on CaO2, Al expressed in terms of P2O5, water-soluble phosphoric acid compound with the CaO2.
