PURPOSE:To enable the recording of a half tone image with a high quality by heating an ink sheet from the side of an ink-coated surface with a thermal head through a recording body to change the amount of a transfer ink smoothly. CONSTITUTION:After the positional replacement of the thermal head 1 with the roller 4, a heat generating body of the thermal head 1 generates heat according to recording information and melts a fusible ink 2b of an ink sheet 2 to be transferred onto a recording body 3. The amount of the transfer ink, namely, the recording density can be changed by controlling the heat generated by the heat generating body to facilitate the recording a half-tone image.
