METHOD FOR MEASURING FLOW RATE OF POWDER AND GRANULE IN SOLID-GAS TWO-PHASE FLOW

PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of measurement by inserting at least one bar- shaped or tubular oscillating member to the proper point in a piping in approximatelythe diametral direction of said pipe and detecting the oscillation of the oscillating member generated when powder and granules collide against the member. CONSTITUTION:A bar-shaped or tubular oscillating member 2 is inserted and disposed to the proper place of a piping 1 for transporting powder and granules in approximately the diametral direction of said piping. An oscillation detecting block 3 is installed on the side wall thereof and an oscillation receiver 4 which detects only the lateral oscillation is attached to the front or rear surface thereof. The effective value of oscillating acceleration is extracted from the detected value thereof and the mass flow of the powder and granules is determined from the predetermined relation between the effective value of the oscillating acceleration and the mass flow rate.
