PURPOSE:To obtain the exact content of Cu with atomic absorption analysis by using a standard sample prepd. by adding hydrochloric acid and BaTiO3 for quantitative determination of Cu in barium titanate (BaTiO3) and formation of a calibration curve. CONSTITUTION:The calibration curve for atomic absorption analysis having good linearity at 324.6nm with 1-6ppm content of Cu and having good linearity at 249.2nm with 30-300ppm is obtd. but the sensitivity is low at 249.2nm in quantitative determination of Cu in the BaTiO3. However, the sensitivity is high at 324.6nm and there is a need for making measurement after diluting the sample if the content of Cu is =5%; whereas the measurement of Cu in the BaTiO3 with good accuracy is made possible by using 249.2nm absorbancy without diluting the sample soln. if the hydrochloric acid and BaTiO3 are preliminarily added to the BaTiO3 in the stage of forming the calibration curve and said curve is preliminarily formed by measuring the Cu.
