PRODUCTION OF EXTRACT POWDER OF GANODERMA LUCIDUM KARST.

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled powder, having increased low-molecular weight components, and expectable as a wide range of drugs in addition to antithrombotic and anticancer agents, by extracting one of dried two fragment portions of Ganoderma lucidum Karst. with hot water, extracting the other with ethanol, concentrating both extracts, mixing both, and powdering the resultant mixture. CONSTITUTION:One of dried two fragment portions of Ganoderma lucidum Karst. is extracted with hot water several times, preferably at least three times, and the respective extracts are concentrated to = twice the weight of the raw material. On the other hand, an equal amount of the other dried fragment portion of the Ganoderma lucidum Karst. is extracted with ethanol at = ordiary temperature several times, preferably three times, and the respective extracts are concentrated to an equal amount or less of the raw material. Both the concentrated extracts are then mixed and powdered to give the aimed extract powder of the Ganoderma lucidum Karst. The Ganoderma lucidum Karst. is said to be effective for not only diseases in blood pressure and blood vessel systems but also hepatitis, cancer, diabetetes and allergic diseases. The conventional hot water extract contains a small amount of components having =50,000 molecular weight, but the above-mentioned extract of the Ganoderma lucidum Karst. has an increased amount of components having =50,000 molecular weight, and a drug effect on a wider range of diseases can be expected.
