PURPOSE:To provide a highly wear resistant blade body at a low cost by spraying thermally and coating a ceramics on the surface part of a base material for a blade having a cutting edge-shaped end edge to form a hard layer and forming the cutting edge part consisting of the ceramics to the blade edge. CONSTITUTION:The cutting blade 3 and receiving blade 6 of a tea leaves picker are manufactured by machining the end edge of a flat plate-shaped base material (a) for a blade to finish the same to a required blade edge c' shape and spraying thermally and coating a ceramic material on the surface part including the end edge to form a uniform hard layer (b) and providing a cutting edge part (c) formed of the ceramics to the edge c'. A non-rusting metal such as a stainless steel or aluminum or a metal having high toughness such as a metal subjected to a rust treatment on the surface is used for the material (a) and non-oxide ceramics such as silicon nitride and silicon carbide or oxide ceramics such as alumina and zircon are used for the layer (b).
