SENSITIVITY CORRECTING SYSTEM BETWEEN LINEAR ARRAY SENSOR ELEMENTS

PURPOSE:To eliminate striped pattern noise on a picture caused by the variation of a sensitivity characteristic between detectors by deriving the intensity correcting quantity of every picture detector from the statistic of an output picture intensity calculated at every picture detector of a linear array sensor. CONSTITUTION:An earth observing data by a linear array sensor loaded on a satellite 1 is received by an antenna 2, and recorded in a magnetic tape 4 by a recording system 3 by a real time when the satellite passes through high up in the sky. As for the magnetic tape 4, intensity distortion and geometrical distortion are eliminated in a picture processing system to be outputted as a corrected picture data 5. In the picture processing system, the uncorrected picture data of the magnetic tape 4 is read by a magnetic tape device 6, stored in a magnetic disk device 9, and simultaneously, the statistic quantity at every detector of the linear array sensor is calculated by an operating device 7, and stored in a storage device 8. A linear array sensor image pickup picture is corrected basing on the statistic.
