PURPOSE:To correct and eliminate optimumly a stripe-like noise on an image by calculating the statistic of an output image intensity at every image detector and obtaining an image intensity correcting quantity through a frequency space filter, etc. CONSTITUTION:An earth observation data in a satellite 1 is recorded in a high density magnetic tape 4 at a real time by a system 3. The uncorrected image data of the tape 4 is read by a device 6, stored in a disk device 9 and simultaneously, the statistic of every detector of the satellite 1 is calculated by an arithmetic unit 7. An arithmetic unit 10 calculates the estimation of a detector offset of the satellite 1 and an intensity correction of one picture element, executes Wiener filtering simultaneously, and an arithmetic unit 11 calculates a frequency filter. In this way the arithmetic unit 10 stores an image intensity correction coefficient in a storage device 14. Also, the j-th image data train is brought to an intensity correction by a correcting device 13 and recorded in a tape 5 through a control device 15.
