摘要

PURPOSE:To remove a trihalomethane precursor substance from water simply and effectively, by adding a zinc salt to water containing the trihalomethane precursor substance, and performing flocculation treatment under a condition of pH 7 or more. CONSTITUTION:0.5-1,000mg/l of a zinc salt such as zinc sulfate, zinc nitrate, zinc chloride, zinc hydroxide or zinc acetate is added to water containing trihalomethane precursor substance and, subsequently, the pH of water is adjusted to 7 or more to perform flocculation treatment. The aforementioned zinc salt may be added in a powdery form or as an aqueous solution and may be used in a state made weakly acidic by hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid. The pH of the solution, to which the zinc salt is added, is pref. set to a range of 7-11. By the aforementioned method, the trihalomethane precursor substance in water can be removed effectively in an extremely simple manner and, especially, this method can be suitably adapted to treatment of water such as tap water.
