PROCESS FOR PREVENTING GENERATION OF CALCAREOUS SCALE DEPOSITED FROM HOT WATER WHICH EJECTS IN GEOTHERMAL WELL IN GEOTHERMAL POWER PLANT

PURPOSE:To prevent generation of calcareous scale in a geothermal well by injecting polyacrylic acid or its deriv., or a copolymer of polyacrylic acid with maleic acid, etc. to a position =10cm below the lowest end of the deposition of scale from hot water. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of org. compds. among polyacrylic acid or its deriv. and its salts, copolymers of acrylic acid with maleic acid, polycarboxylic acids, its derivs., and its salts, etc., are mixed to prepare a scale inhibitor. Said scale inhibitor is injected into a geothermal well at =10cm below the position where deposition of calcareous scale from hot water is caused, and the inhibitor is mixed with the hot water. By this method, generation of calcareous scale in the well is prevented and stable power generation in a geothermal power plant is attained.
