METHOD FOR PREVENTING CRACKING OF ALUMINIZED STEEL SHEET DURING WORKING

PURPOSE:To prevent the cracking of the Al layers of an aluminized steel sheet during working by subjecting the surfaces of the steel sheet to shot blasting with fine powder and by blowing pressurized water or compressed air to clean the surfaces. CONSTITUTION:A steel sheet is dipped in a molten Al-Si alloy consisting of 7- 9wt% Si, 90.5-92.5wt% Al and the balance Fe to form Al alloy layers with superior heat resistance on the surfaces of the steel sheet. The surfaces of the steel sheet are then subjected to shot blasting with hard powder of silica, alundum or the like under 1.5-5kg/cm2 ejection pressure for 3-6sec, and pressurized water or compressed air is blown to clean the surfaces. The cracking of the Al alloy layers of the steel sheet can be prevented during working.
