摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent corrosion and stress corrosion cracking of a metallic surface and to retard the progress thereof by subjecting the metallic surface to application of compressive stress and blasting for the purpose of roughening then applying bonding coat, finish melt spraying and a sealing treatment thereon. CONSTITUTION:Metallic surfaces of cast iron or the like are blasted with shot or grit materials to clean them; at the same time, compressive stresses are applied thereto by peening. The surfaces are next blasted with grit materials and are thereby roughened. Immediately, they are applied with bonding coat of an Ni-base alloy intended for tight adhesion and the secondary corrosion prevention then with finish melt spraying of Al, titania, etc. for the purpose of the primary corrosion prevention. As a final stage, these surfaces are applied with a sealing treatment by the use of a silicone resin, epoxy resin or the like. The formation of such laminated films is highly effective for preventing the corrosion and stress corrosion cracking of the metallic surfaces and for inhibiting the progression thereof.
