AU ALLOY FOR USE IN FORMATION OF PHYSICAL VAPOR DEPOSITION FILM

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the gold alloy for forming a hard film having excellent resistance to scratches and abrasion and a golden color tone in a physical vapor deposition process, by alloying the specified amounts of Cu and Ag to Au. CONSTITUTION:An Au alloy contg. 10-20% Cu and 5-30% Ag is used for forming a hard deposition film on the surface of a decorative part expected to have a decorative color tone, e.g. a watchcase, the band of a watch, the frame of a pair of spectacles, a necklace or an earing, by a physical vapor deposition process such as vacuum deposition, ion plating or magnetron spattering. As a result, the beautiful deposition film having large hardness, excellent resistance to scratches and abrasion and a golden color tone is formed.
