A warning light 1 for fitting to a leaf flap of a lift comprises a fitting 2 for fixing to the leaf flap and a body 3, which is provided with a lamp glass 7 and a protective grille 8, and in which, between the body 3 and a channel-shaped part 4, which is fixed to the fitting 2, there are two springs 5, 6, which endeavour to keep the body 3 end to end with the fitting 2, the body 3 being rotatably supported on the fitting 2 by means of a hinge 14. The warning light 1 further comprises elements 10, 11, 12, 13 for holding the body 3 in a bent-back position. A warning light is provided which can easily be fitted to an existing lift flap, the body 3 being rotated and deflected in the event of contact with the rear end of the truck or the road surface.
