The base plate of the stand has a central depression in which a hollow shaft (4), mounted in bearings, supportsa conical receptacle. The shaft and receptacle are rotated by a motor via gearing. A pillar support sleeve or flat table can be inserted in the receptacle. A mains connector on the edge of the shaft is supplied with power from slip rings in the base. Also mounted inside the base cover is a music box movement operated by the gear wheel on the shaft. Five stabilising jockey wheels help to centralise the shaft.
