The method is intended for closing a bore hole in the ground. It uses a flexible and stretchable, preferably polythene bag with two compartments contg. the components of a foamable plastic, e.g. polyol and iso-cyanate, the separation between the compartments being removable (e.g. external clamp). After removing the clamp and mixing the components by shaking but before the reaction starts, the bag is lowered into the bore hole and held at the required level during the start of the reaction until the bag is held in position by expansion.
