The beer barrel corking system uses synthetic plugs driven home pneumatically. The plugs are delivered in a sorted condition one by one and separated at regular intervals along a pipe to a separate driving unit, with the aid of compressed air. The plug is then introduced by the driving unit into the barrel bung hole, using a liquid lubricant fed to the driving unit. There can be an oscillating conveyor actuated by solenoids and with a pneumatic mechanism separating the plugs from each other. This mechanism is connected by a pipe, supplied with compressed air at regular intervals, to the driving unit, which is suspended from a flat rail and controls the separating mechanism.
