Rectangular blanks of fabrics are seamed along opposite edges by feeling the blanks in succession to a sewing machine, attaching double-sided adhesive tape to the marginal region of the blanks, folding the free marginal portions about the tape, sewing the folded over edges and severing the tapes flush with the ends of the folded over edges. Used for finishing selvedges of blankets, sheets, towels or table cloths. Seams are prevented from forming tubular edges.
