Precipitating sediments of thixotropic red slime - from Bayer process, by liquefying in presence of electrolytic block and introducing liquefied slime and cation exchanger

Wet slime contg. 30 to 70 wt.% of solid component is introduced into a reactor and the said slime is liquefied in the presence of 0.2 to 0.6 wt.% of an electrolytic block, using a shearing force transmission appts. The resulting liquefied slime and cationic exchanger(s) are introduced into a sediment pptg. appts. by means of pump. The appts. has a dam actuated with hydraulic force as a means of exhausting natural water from the slime. The thixotropic red slime is produced in producing sodium aluminate from bauxite by Bayer Method. It is prohibited to mix the slime with underground water.
