ABSTRACTA method of prolonging the life-expectancy of an intact animalorganism bearing a neoplastic process comprises administering one or morecancer-treatment drugs to the animal organism, and concurrently subjectingthe animal organism to a controlled time-varying magnetic field of such ef-fective amplitude as to subject cells and/or tissues within the organism tothe electromagnetic induction of an electrochemical time-varying signalwhich controllably modifies a fundamental behavioral function of said cellsand/or tissues. An electrochemical treatment device for carrying out themethod comprises a support of non-paramagnetic material and having sufficienthorizontal surface area to provide full area support for the entire intactanimal organism. Magnetic-circuit means includes a single multi-turn elect-rical coil extending longitudinally along a horizontal axis and definingtherewithin such a geometric volume as to substantially fully enclose thesupport and an intact animal organism supported thereon. Electric-circuitmeans excite the magnetic-circuit means with a repetitive low-voltage signalcycle designed for such electromagnetic coupling to the cells and/or tissueof the organism as to induce a specific electrochemical cell response.
