ABSTRACTIn a metal extrusion press, extrusion toolssuch as dies, mandrels, and closure members for billetreceivers, are lubricated by bringing into contact withthese tools, while the tools are hot, candles oflubricant material which melt on contact with the tools.the candles are moved into and out of engagement withthe tools by a movable support operating automaticallyin the press cycle.
