PROCESS AND EQUIPMENT FOR THE DETERMINATIONOF THE MAGNETITE AND PHOSPHORUS CONTENTS OFMAGNETITE-CONTAINING ORES.ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE_ _Process for the determination of the magnetite andphosphorus contents of magnetite-containing ores. A sampleof dust which has been produced artificially or obtained asbyproduct is collected and placed in an electromagnetic field.The magnetite content of the dust sample is determined fromchanges in the magnetic flux or the relative permeability.Subsequently the phosphorus content of the total dust samplemass is determined. Also the total dust sample mass is like-wise determined from changes in the magnetic flux or therelative permeability. The dust sample is preferably driedprior to measuring the change in the magnetic flux or therelative permeability. Equipment for carrying out the processincludes a coil system having at least one measuring coil fordetermining the magnetite content. The core of the measuringcoil forms a tube which has a minimum filling height that ex-ceeds the length of the coil. An additional measuring coil,whose length exceeds the maximum filling height of the tube,is provided for determination of the sample mass. The tube isconnected to a reaction chamber for carrying out the phosphorusanalysis. The reaction chamber is connected to reagent storagecontainers. A microprocessor is provided for evaluating themeasured values and simultaneously controlling the operationof the equipment. The tube is connected to a dust collectingunit, preferably via an elbow.
