ABSTRACTThe present invention relates to the benzoyl- and.alpha. -hydroxybenzyl-phenyl-oside derivatives of generalformula: (I)[in which Z is CO or CHOH, X1, X2, X3, X4 and X5, whichare identical or different, each represent an atom ofhydrogen, an atom of halogen, an alkyl group with 1 to 4carbon atoms, an alkyl group with 1 to 4 carbon atomssubstituted by one or more atoms of halogen, an OH group,an alkoxy group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an alkoxy groupwith 1 to 4 carbon atoms substituted by one or morehalogen atoms, a nitro group, a cyano group, a thiocyanogroup, an isothiocyano group, a NR'R'' group (where R' andR'', identical or different, each represent an atom ofhydrogen or an alkyl group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms) X1further being able to represent an -NH-CS-O-CH3 group oran -O-C-(CH3)2CO-R''' group (where R''' is an alkyl groupwith 1 to 4 carbon atoms and, preferably, an isopropylgroup); and R represents a radical ose (the hydroxyl andamine functions of the radical ose being able to besubstituted by acyl, alkyl or sulfate groups)], and totheir diastereoisomers. It also relates to the method ofpreparation of these derivatives and to their applicationin therapeutics.
