The present invention relates to a new corrosion-inhibiting composition for protecting the metal surfaces of an installation using water as thermal or energy fluid and comprising a dry steam generator, a wet steam generator, a water generator superheated or a hot water generator, this composition being characterized in that it comprises a) 1 to 100 parts by dry weight of alkalizing amine, and b) 1 part by dry weight of film-forming amine. The invention also relates to the method for protecting the metal surfaces of said installation, according to which said composition is administered at the level of the food cover.
