An elongate shedding member extends into the conduit through which the fluid flows. Having triangular cross section, the vortex shedder is rigidly mounted to the conduit wall. Within the axial bore of the vortex shedder are two vibration or oscillation sensors, the first one being within the conduit bore and the second one outside it. The two sensors are rigidly confined together in a glass envelope within the shedder bore with an adjustably positioned balance weight coupled over the outermost end. The firs sensor comprises a flat metal base plate with a pair of piezoelectric elements attached.
