A suspension contains (a) a ketonic solvent, in which (I) nitrocellulose is dissolved and (II) a powder is suspended, (b) a strong acid, and (c) a strong base. The acid and base are added to the suspension to qive a conductivity of 1-30 micro-siemens/cm. (I) for cathode ray tubes, fluroescent powders (for a coloured fluorescent screen), cathode powders, and insulating powders (e.g. Al(OH)3 for fibre surface in an indirectly heated cathode), and (II) powders for passivisation of surfaces of semiconductors (e.g. layers or films in mesa-semiconductors). Suspension is stable and reproducible. Smooth, uniform, pure deposits are obtd.
