Single or multiple nozzle guide surface flow propeller stern of the ship

The annular nozzle construction for a ship's propeller unit, includes half shells which form with the ship's hull an enclosed unit. The ship stern (4) is fitted with a propeller (5) which is driven by a stern-tube (9) shaft. The propeller has a succeeding stage rudder (6) which has a preceding annular nozzle, consisting of two half- shells, separated by a joint-face (3). The C of G of the cross- sectional surface which encloses the annular nozzle, lies above the prop-shaft centre. The axis (8) of the half-shells may assume variable axial directions.
