The edge of a thermoplastic moulding, projecting from the split line of the mould, is dressed by a device with electrically heated knives at the split line and with gaps at their sides for expansion; these knives are positioned so as to meet the polymer material only when the mould closes. Each heated knife has a blade with high walls running along its sides and slotted for screwing together to adjacent knives. The position of each knife can be adjusted individually.
