The subject-matter of the invention is an Azimuth pointer gyrocompass arrangement, exhibiting a short oscillation period with two degrees of freedom, in which the weight of the oscillating system and the horizontal forces are taken up by mutually independent carriers or bearings, and the initial oscillating position in each case can be fixed, as a result of which the entire system can be assembled organically with an angle measuring unit or operated separately and digitally indicates the measurement data. The essence of the invention consists in that the support structure and the bearing system of the unit containing the motor are functionally separated as a result of which the digital angle reading and the measurements can be started from a reference point which is arranged on the automatic component. In the system explained above, the measurement can also be carried out in such a manner, in accordance with the essential feature of the invention, that the angle measuring unit and the gyro compass unit are arranged on a common body, for example in some motor vehicle. Both the gyrocompass and the angle measuring unit have a reference direction on the common body (so-called reference mark). From these initial directions as starting points, the Azimuths of the direction can be determined by summing the measured angles, using a common digital display.
