An energy-saving cooking vessel for use on an open flame has an outer vessel which encloses the combustion gases and in which an opening in its bottom terminates with the gas burner or the burner head of a vaporising burner in such a way that not substantially more than the quantity of combustion air required for complete combustion can reach the flame. The annular space and bottom space enclosed between the cooking vessel and the outer vessel are of such narrow construction that the combustion gases are swirled. The outer vessel is of heat-insulating construction, whereas the cooking vessel consists of a material with good heat-conducting properties and has on its outside a lamellated surface and/or heat exchanging ribs. The energy-saving cooking vessel can be taken apart for cleaning purposes. For mobile use, for saving weight and better transportability, the outer vessel is formed from multi-layered, flexible and heat-resistant fabric which is stretched removably over a frame which can be clamped together with removably hooked-in support legs. After separation at a separation point, the outer vessel can be spread flat for easier transportation. IMAGE
