A clamping device for use on or in machining stations of machine tools is provided with a clamping plate which has a matrix of tapped holes, arranged in suitable columns and lines and having a centre-hole register, and with hydraulically operable clamping tools to be mechanically fastened on the clamping plate via the tapped holes. The clamping device is characterised by the clamping plate (1), which has a second matrix (5) of closable hydraulic connections (6) offset from the matrix (2) of tapped holes (3), in that the hydraulic connections (6) are connected to one another by lines (11) arranged in the clamping plate (1), and in that the clamping tools, in their mounting surface facing the clamping plate (1), have connecting openings for the passage of the hydraulic medium.
