The invention relates to an arrangement with which, in particular in steep stratification, a winning apparatus as disclosed in particular by German Offenlegungsschrift 3300167 is placed in the face. In a preferred embodiment, the arrangement consists of a travelling group, the parts of which, provided with hydraulic props, are coupled via a lifting and longitudinal advancing mechanism and conveniently also via a transverse advancing mechanism in such a way that the group parts can run gradually downwards at the face. The self-advancing powered support units attached from the top road are carried along during this downwards movement.
