The invention relates to a process for installing at least one pipeline for supplying preferably purified flue gas into the interior of an existing cooling tower, the pipeline being located above the cooling-tower internals used for heat exchange and penetrating the cooling-tower shell, preferably consisting of concrete, in the region of an opening. In order to be able to install and fit the pipeline during cooling-tower operation, after completion of preparations which only requires a short shutdown period of the cooling tower, the pipeline is assembled from individual lengths of pipe outside the cooling tower, in front of the opening in the cooling-tower shell, and is fed section by section into the cooling tower. The pipeline is supported on props, erected in the cooling tower, by means of roller bearings which allow an axial and rotary movement of the pipeline. The pipeline, provided with at least one radial discharge opening, is fed into the cooling tower with a downward-pointing discharge opening and, in the final state, is turned such that the discharge opening points upwards.
