ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTIONA process for preparing for casting afoam mold pattern including a portion into whichloose sand will not readily flow when sand iscompacted around the mold pattern, the processcomprising the step of attaching a bonded sand coreto the foam mold pattern so that the bonded sand corewill occupy only the portion of the foam mold patterninto which sand will not readily flow.
