The seat is suitable for a two-door vehicle in which tilting of the seat back forward facilitates access to the rear seats. The seat base has frame members each of which is supported on a fixed guideway (16) via an intermediate guide (17). The seat back is pivoted both to the seat base and to the guides so that forward tilting of the seat back leads to forward sliding movement of the seat as a whole, thereby allowing easy access to the rear seats by providing the max. possible gap behind the front seat.
