The mitre-joined profile battens have a cross-section embracing a U-shaped centre part to hold an insulating pane. Two L-shaped closure battens on the sides of this overlap the wing frame to make up a secondary frame for converting a single glazed window wing frame to double-glazing. At the bottom of the U-shaped central area (16), the additional frame (10) is peripherally divided into two flush part frames, firmly connected to the insulation pane (20) from both sides. One of the closing battens (24) has a peripheral slit (30) on the outside, for insertion of a flange (48) of a mitre-cut angular batten (50). This closing batten may comprise a triangular-section hollow profile on the other side of the slit.
